AoH - DistractingWhen it first starts you think you can ignore it, just a subtle impulse in the back of your mind, barely noticeable. An occasional nauseating twisting in the center of your chest will catch you off guard every now and then, but that's also easily ignored. Easy to pass off as a "one time thing", or maybe that you just weren't feeling well that day. It's not hard to convince yourself that it's nothing, to pretend that the flashes of emotion will go away if you ignore them long enough.
You even start to believe it for a little while, until it grows into something more like an insect constantly droning in your ears. You can try to ignore it, but it's still there, eating away at your nerves until you think you might be going crazy from it. Though… it's really not so bad (yet), you can tolerate it. A minor inconvenience, but you begin to wonder if it's causing you to reveal anything in your expressions, your movements, your words. It's almost… frightening to have to put this much t
